Boeken Ober
Het arbeidsmarktperspectief voor een ober is groot. Er is veel werkgelegenheid omdat veel restaurants, café's en andere eetgelegenheden geregeld op zoek zijn naar nieuwe obers.
Daarnaast zijn er ook doorgroeimogelijkheden voor een carrière binnen de horecabranche; zo kan de ober kan meer verantwoordelijkheden krijgen, de leiding krijgen over nieuwe obers of aan het team binnen het bedrijf of bijgeschoold worden naar een ander beroep binnen de horecabranche en het bedrijf waarin hij werkzaam is.

Na alle lockdowns van 2020 en 2021 zijn de baankansen voor een ober explosief gestegen. Er is vanwege de langdurige Horecasluiting veel personeel overgestapt naar werk in een andere sector. Één op de drie horecaondernemers geeft aan een tekort aan personeel te hebben. Dit is ook te zien in het startsalaris van een ober, dat in een jaar tijd met bijna 10% is gestegen vanwege de grote arbeidsmarktkrapte.
