Boeken Leraar Wiskunde
Het arbeidsmarktperspectief voor een beginnende Leraar Wiskunde (of iemand die zoek naar een baan als leraar Wiskunde) is al een aantal jaren zeer goed. Waar er bij vakken als geschiedenis en aardrijkskunde weinig werkgelegenheid is, is dat bij de beta vakken (natuur-scheikunde, wiskunde) juist tegenovergesteld. Elke week komen er nieuwe vacatures bij.
De carrièremogelijkheden voor een Leraar Wiskunde zijn niet heel groot. Dit vraagt echter om relativering. Als met carrièremogelijkheden wordt bedoeld: interne mogelijkheden, dan zijn deze zeker voorhanden. Sowieso groeit een leraar automatisch elk jaar door in zijn salaris: hoe meer ervaringsjaren, hoe meer men verdient. De verhogingen zijn echter niet groot en de top is relatief snel bereikt. Doorgroeien in salarisschalen en mogelijkheden kan dan alleen als men op 1e graads niveau gaat lesgeven.
Verder zijn er mogelijkheden wat betreft aanvullende taken als sectievoorzitter, mentorschap, en men kan zelfs een andere functie gaan bekleden zoals afdelingshoofd, iets in management, conrector of zelfs rectorschap tot en met zitting in de raad van bestuur. Buiten de klaslokalen blijkt het moeilijker om een switch te maken, maar de mogelijkheden zijn er altijd. Sommige leraren kunnen op jonge leeftijd nog prima switchen naar het bedrijfsleven en men kan er voor kiezen om de wetenschap in te gaan (op zoek naar een promotietraject) of uiteraard zelf het pad uitstippelen (eigen bedrijf, etc.)
