Boeken Stand up comedian

Omdat er op dit moment een grote hoeveelheid comedians in Nederland werkzaam is is het moeilijk om als stand up comedian voet aan de grond te krijgen.
De meeste stand up comedians kunnen bekender worden (en zo het grote publiek bereiken) door zoveel mogelijk op te treden, aangenomen te worden bij een comedygezelschap als de Comedytrain of Comedy Explosion of het winnen van een cabaretfestival.

Realistisch gezien is het vrij moeilijk om alleen van stand up comedy te kunnen leven. Wel kan de comedian proberen om (als dit niet lukt) bijverdiensten te krijgen door grappen en teksten te schrijven voor andere comedians of tv-programma's e.d.
